Bshp. Lewis Jones , 2nd son. Poss. native of Dol y Moch, Merioneth. Educ. Brasenose Coll., Oxford ca 1562. Longford) 1606-25, and of Cashel (where he restored the cathedral), 1607, prebendary of Ely, 1629-38, and (despite Laud's dislike for his Puritanism) bishop of Killaloe from 1633 to his death on 2 Nov. 1646 There were two Lewis Jones clerics in Ireland at this time. Many historians have confused them and it is still not certain which things belong to which person. The son of Margaret Purdon cannot have been born in 1560, for example.
