Ensign, Bombay Infantry, 185^ ; Lieutenant, 1861 ; Captain, 1869 ; Major, 1879 ; Lieut. -Colonel, 1885 ; Colonel, 1889. Is Assistant-Commissary-General, and Class ; Storekeeper-General, Bombay. Served in the Afghan War m 1880 as Executive Commis- sariat Officer at Sibi, on the Line of Communication, also at Kandahar and Quetta (Medal). Served in the Burmese War in 1887 as Assistant Principal Commissariat Officer at Mandalay from the 22nd July to the 37th September (Medal with clasp).
