Maj.Gen.Sir Michael Anthony Shrapnel Biddulph , J.C.B. (1879), a groom in waiting to Queen Victoria. served throughout the Crimea campaign 1854-5, including the battles of the Alma, Balaclava, and Inkerman, and the siege and fall of Sebastapol and has recently gained distinction in command in India; medal with four clasps, and turkish medal; Knight of the Legion of Honour, and 5th Class of the Medjidie.
