, Formerly of Berkshire, Arrived in Madeira in 1807.of Madeira. 18O7 - Napoleon just might try to seize Madeira. Hence, the British posted a garrison of soldiers on the island, including 23-year-old John Blandy. Only four years later, he founded the firm whose wines quickly caught Napoleon's attention! In 1791 the Sheriff of Berkshire was a John Blandy. Poss. had two more daughters, Jennet and Anne
