Robert Chambers 1832 - 1888
Robert Chambers , editor of Chamber's Journal in 1874, involved in the production of Chamber's Encyclopaedia 1859-68. 1881 census records him as a publisher and editor.The Annual Register 1888, under Obits., March: "On the 26th, at Edinburgh, aged 56, Robert Chambers, the head of the well-known firm of publishers, and editor of the "Journal", founded by his father."
