Sir Everard
Digby
1578 - 1606

Sir Everard
Digby
, Of Drystoke. His father died when he was young and he was brought up a Ward of Chancery and a Protestant. Later he was converted to Cathlicism by Father Gerard. Thirteenth and last conspirator in the "Gunpowder Plot", he was recruited in October 1605. His wealth and horses were to be his contribution. It seems he was to be in charge of abducting the Princess Elizabeth. It is also not clear whether he knew that the Houses of Parliament were to be blown up.
