Probably the Dodsworth in "Wallis & Dodsworth", surgeons at 19 Blake st., York in professions and trades for YORK - White's Directory of 1840. Scaife? thinks that Dodsworth is a Benjamin Dodsworth. PvM thought his name was Ralph. There are lots of possible children born to this couple between their marriage in 1841 and the 1st recorded child in 1848 Is the Benjamin Dodsworth listed as a Sheriff in 1848 in Baines Directory? Charlie Dodsworth says (2004) "Clare's husband was a surgeon and also chairman of the York Union Bank. He was one of the first people to take out an appendix successfully! "
