On June 22nd, 1655, James Grierson, or Grier was succeeded by his eldest son, John Grierson or Grier who acquired more property as the years advanced. Eventually John Grierson, aka Grier, was himself succeeded on December 2nd, 1687 by James Grierson or Grier, the only one of his ten sons to survive childhood.
