Ludwig IV Karl Maria Gemmingen von Massenbach 1843 - 1899
Ludwig IV Karl Maria Gemmingen von Massenbach , Baron Massenbach, of Bad Reichenhall, Bavaria, etc. Bavarian Court Gentleman-in-Waiting, Knight-Captain & Herald of the Roy. Bavarian Order of St George, Capt. Roy. Bavarian 9th Inf. Regt., Chief Inspector of Posts & Railways, Munich & Bad Reichenhall, etc. In the final engagement of the Austro Hungariian War in 1866, he was severly wounmded by Prussian soldiers who he claimed had broken a truce. This finished his army career amd two years later he found himself accepting a post with the newly formed Ostbahn (railway company). He was posted firstly to Amberg then to Schwandorf. In 1874 he was thern moved to Bad Reichenhall to take charge of the Posts, Telegraph and Railway Offices there. In 1888 he was promoted to take over the Railway Inspectorate in Munich.
