Nathaniel Brassey

, orientalist and grammarian, who arrived in Calcutta (1772) to work in the E.I.C. as a `writer'. He is credited with being the first to write a Bangla Grammar (1778). He also made a translation of the Upanishad (1787), after he had returned to England.
