Rev. Francis (Frank) Innes Innes-Jones 1824 - 1891
Rev. Francis (Frank) Innes Innes-Jones , educ. St. Bee's College. Rector of Sandgate, Kent. had an excellent position in a mercantile office. "After a time a partnership was offered him; had he accepted it he would have been required to work on the Lord's Day; this his conscience would not allow him to do, and he resigned from the firm." (ca 1843). He then took holy orders including a spell as a curate at Stockwell. Semi-retired due to ill health to Woodstock, Stoke, appt. Diocesan Preacher in 1887. He was also a successful Mission Preacher. After 1887, he resided at Woodstock, Nelson. He was outlived by his wife and 9 of his children. Incumbent of Darley Abbey (1861). Venn's entry reads: Jones, Francis Innes. College: ST CATHARINE'S Adm. pens. at ST CATHARINE'S, Apr. 12, 1848. S. of Humphrey Herbert, M.D. B. at Llynon, Anglesey. Ord. deacon (Ripon) 1851; priest, 1852; C. of Elland, Yorks., 1851-3. C. of St Michael's, Stockwell, Surrey, 1853-4. V. of Darley Abbey, Derbs., 1854-69. V. of Sandgate, Kent, 1869-80. Parish of All Saints', Nelson, New Zealand, 1881-5. Resided subsequently at Woodstock, Westland, New Zealand, and disappears from Crockford, 1892. Father of Alan S. I. (1878).
