James Stuart Laurie 1832 - 1904
James Stuart Laurie , Student of Philosophy (1851). Barrister-at-law of the Inner Temple, from 1854-63 he was inspector of schools (1861 census records him so). He held educational posts in Ireland and Ceylon and was called to the bar in 1871. He also published school handbooks.
