Mackail
, the 1890s, the Mackails lived at 27 Young Street, Kensington, off Kensington High Street and close to Kensington Palace and Kensington Gardens. In 1898 the family moved to 6 Pembroke Gardens, just south of the artistic Holland Park area at the other end of Kensington High Street. This remained J. W. and Margaret's home until his death, aged 86, a few months after the end of the second world war; she survived until 1953.
