William Power 1745 - 1813
William Power , eldest son. (succ. post/1745 his father Edmund), of Gurteen, co. Waterford, Ireland. He was succ. in his "de jure" honours by his nephew Edmund (1767-1830). His property of Gurteen he left to his adopted (?) son & gr.nephew Robert (ca.1801-1871). s.p. List of Freeholders of the County of Tipperary in the year 1776 Name Abode Freehold Power, William Gurteen, Co. Waterford Priorstown records states that William Power left 30 acres of land and 5,000 pounds for the establishment of an alm house in the parish of Kilshelan on the Tipperary-Waterford border where his Gurteen estate was situated. By 1837, the almhouse had still not been finished. Date of will: November 20, 1813
