First Published by Faber and Faber 1972 Its "Chronology" describes the THIRD ANGLO-BURMESE WAR as lasting from 11th November 1885 to 9th November 1886. It describes this in detail from a number of personal viewpoints. It is a very well documented book with a wealth of references and index containing many names. The principal European characters being C.E. Bernard, Frederick Temple Hamilton-Temple Blackwood, E.K. Moylan, Sir Harry N.D. Prendergast, Sir Edward Sladen and Sir George White. There are 10 pages of index, about half being references to people. There are 16 pages of notes and bibliography, again well spattered with names.
Ca 1892, he was British Resident of Mysore.
