Lt. Charles Randolph Prendergast , Lieut. C.R. Prendergast. 28/Punjabis. Charles Randolph Prendergast. Recipient was K.I.A., aged 28 in Mesopotamia on 21-1-1916 and is commemorated on the Basra Memorial. He was born in 1888, the son of Major General and Mrs. C.L. Prendergast, late Bengal Infy. He was educated at Cheltenham College from 1900 to 1907, then R.M.C. Sandhurst, and was commissioned into the Royal Munster Fusiliers in 1910, transferring to the Indian Army in 1914. His school obituary lists him as being mentioned in despatches
