, d.s.p. letters and fragments of autobiography were edited and published by Lady Llanover in 1861 and 1862 and a letter written by Mary Delany on December 14th, 1731 appears on p 330 of Volume 1 of the 1861 series which says: "We have had a wedding lately, Lord Meath, a man of good sense and great fortune, who was married unfortunately when he was a boy to his aunt's chambermaid. He never lived with her and she died about a month ago. Yesterday he married Miss Prendergast: he has been in love with her for several years. She has little or no fortune and is far from handsome."
