Thomas Pulleyne (Pullein/Pulleine) 1701 - 1759
Thomas Pulleyne (Pullein/Pulleine), of Burley, Yorks. *33 He was the eldest son of John Pulleyn, esq. of Burley, by Ann, only daughter of John Fairfax, fifth son of Charles Fairfax, esq. of Menston (author of the Analecta Fairfaxiana), a younger son of Thomas, first lord Fairfax of Denton. Described in one biography of Lawrence Sterne as "the Whig politico." He was Clerk of the Peace for the West Riding. He sat on the York Grand Jury, a very powerful position.
