Will made 14 Feb 1812. Appointed as executors and trustees: his wife Elizabeth SERCOMBE, his eldest son John Clampit SERCOMBE, and Mr. James SOPER of Hennock, who are also to be responsible for the children's education during their minority. Left all his possessions in trust for the benefit of his children, the remainder to be divided equally among them when they have all turned 21 and his wife is dead. Named property: his dwellinghouse in Mary Street, Bovey Tracey; the adjacent soap and ash houses and stable; and an orchard and field at Still Head. Witnessed by Moses SAVERY, William SERCOMBE, and Samuel SERCOMBE. Proved in the Principal Registry of the Bishop of Exeter, 4 Sep 1812. Effects under £100. (See transcript by Edward Davies.)
