, Chief Justice of Ireland. He left part of his property in Ireland to his nephew, Sydenham Fowke who then took the name Singleton. Master of the Rolls and Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas. Chief Justice of Ireland. See New Dictionary of National Biograhy OUP 2004. Singleton (Reg. Ulster's Office, as the arms of HENRY SINGLETON, Prime Serjeant-at-law 1726, afterwards Master of the Rolls and Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas in Ireland, now extinct in the male line). ARMS:..Argent (silver) three chevronels Gules (red) between as many martlets Sable (black). CREST:..An armed arm holding in the hand Proper (natural color) a murdering staff Or (gold).
