Sir William Somerville , (Scotland cr. 3 July 1445 though his father, Sir Thomas, was himself so created), Lord Auditor. He was succ. by his son John, ante/1428?-1491, "Somerville may be considered the oldest Barony (of which there is proof of date) inherent in a Scottish nobleman as his principal title" (CP)
