Canon James West Stack 1835 - 1919
Canon James West Stack , oldest of 7 children. He was in England 1948-52. Copying clerk (1851), Missionary in New Zealand. There in 1886, when he officiated at various baptisms etc.. as reported in the Lyttleton Times. Appears on the New Zealand electoral rolls 1874-96. In 1898 Canon and Mrs Stack left New Zealand, living with her brother in Bordighera, Italy, until 1907 and then in Worthing until his death in 1919. Expert on Maori subjects. His books: Stack, J. W.
