John Edward Taylor , Editor of the Manchester Guardian 1861-71. One of his sisters, Sophia, married Peter Allen who bought the Manchester Evening News soon after 1868. He adopted 2 girls - Charlotte H. Taylor aged 7 at the 1871 census, born Yarmouth, and Sarah E. Taylor aged 5 at the 1871 census, also born in Yarmouth. They were with him at the 1871 census Of 20 Kensington Palace Gardens
