John Wilson , of Eshton Hall, Yorkshire. During his minority Captain John Backhouse , of Yellands , and his wife, Agnes , sister of the Matthew , resided at Eshton Hall , (afterwards at Nether Heselden , devised them by his will), inherited in 1684 from Thomas Hammond , of Thresfield Hall , all that gentleman's estates. In 1700 , he resigned Eshton to his eldest son, Matthew , and passed the remainder of his life at Threshfield Hall , where he died intestate. At his death his property was valued at £500 per annum in land and £5000 money. His younger children received £1250 each.
