John Fowke , of Gunston, co. Staffs., England, 1642 entered Inner Temple (12 May 1632). Pardoned by Charles II for supporting the Commonwealth. Esq., of Limehouse, master of the Ordnance in the Tower of London, during the reigns of Charles I and II. We have Joyce's father as George Marche. He is recorded in the 1666 Hearth Tax rolls: 1 hearth - Brewood, and John Congreve for Squire Fowke's house, 9 hearths.
