C. Rifles; 2nd, Emma, dau. of the Hon. A. Buchanan, M.D., New Zealand ; s. to estates 1848. Residence : Llynon, Holyhead, Anglesey. Arms : Azure, a chevron, or, between three nags' heads, erased, two and one. Ci est : A nag's head, erased. Mottoes: Conanti nil arduum, and "Onward." Herbert Jones, Esq., of Llynon, in the County of Anglesey, to Agnes Freeland, daughter of Major Muther, Royal Canadian Rifle Regiment, commanding the Western Frontier. The ceremony was performed by Rev. F.G. Elliot of Colchester. JONES - BUCHANAN On 1st December 1857 at St Stephens Chapel, Auckland, by the Right Rev Bishop of New Zealand, Humphrey Stanley Jones Esq, of Llynon, Anglesea, Assistant Commissary General, to Emma, eldest daughter of Andrew Buchanan Esq, MD, of Auckland and formerly of the Commercial-road, London. (NZ'er 5 Dec 1857) He sold Llynon on 14 Aug.1873 with 50 acres to Gen. Hughes. He was also of Villa Mona, Bordighera, Italy. Sometime Dep. Assistant Commissary general; at Amherstburg, Canada West, later Commissary general and Commander of the Bath, Auckland, New Zealand. mentioned in his brother in law (Robert Alan Stevenson d. 1865) inventory and will as sometime Deputy Assistant Commissary General at Amherstburg Canada West and now (ca 1866) Commander of the Bath Auckland New Zealand.
