Paterson, son of Mr and Mrs Michael Paterson, of Fulwood, Sheffield, South Yorkshire, and the Hon Caroline Anne Victoria Byron (b 1981), eldest daughter of the 13th Baron Byron (b 5 Apr 1950), of Bartley, Hampshire, by his wife, the former Robyn Margaret McLean, dau. of John McLean, of Hamilton, New Zealand.
