"living at a great age Jan 1689/90" This Theophilus is said to have been the son of John Child, of Brentford and Colebrook, Midx. (b. at Reading), by Margaret, da. of [ — ] Reade, of Brentford. The relationship to Sir Josiah Child, 1st Baronet [1678], is not clear, hut that Baronet is mentioned in the will (25 Jan. 1689/90) of Sir John Child, the 1st Baronet [1685] of this line.
