  (Cyssel), He was the younger son of a poor Welsh squire who left his home on the Welsh-Hereford border, to follow Kg. Henry VII in his campaign for the throne. As a reward he was made a Yeoman of the Guard. He later bought a property near Stamford and became a Mayor and Member of Parliament for Northamptonshire.
