The Return of Papists, 1767; Diocese of Chester records, "Adam Dale, a Farmer, (this being the second time of his living in this parish, after 10 years intermediate absence) aged 54 years, resident 22 years". In the Chichester-Constable catalogues: DDCC (2) Box 23 North Riding Estate Rental Book 1746-52. "Mr Lawrence Dale, tenant of Hutton Hall farm at 3131-10/year left his farm mayday 1750 and brother Adam Dale took part of it, £53-15 rent half yearly.
