, the thirteenth Governor of Prince Edward Island since the creation of the colony in 1763. George Dundas was born in England in 1819 and entered the British Army in 1839. After serving in Bermuda and Nova Scotia, he resigned his commission in 1844 and from 1847 to 1858 he represented Linlithgow in the British House of Commons. On 8th June 1859 he was appointed Governor of the Province of Prince Edward Island. In 1875 he was appointed Governor of the Island of St. Vincent and Antilles. In 1879 he was created a Companion of the Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.) and he died at St. Vincent and the Antilles on 18th March 1880."
