, youngest child. educated as a physician, in 1952 secured a birth re-registration from the Sheriff of Aberdeen and on 12 Sept. 1952 published a notice in the advertisement columns of The Press and Journal, Aberdeen, that henceforth Dr Elizabeth Forbes-Sempill wished to be known as Dr Ewan Forbes-Sempill, on 30 Dec. 1965 (the death s.p.m. of the oldest sibling) claimed to succeed as 11th Baronet, succession challenged by a cousin in the Scottish Court of Session which ruled in favor of Ewan, after the cousin continued with his challenge the Home Secretary (James Callagan) directed in December 1968 that the name of Sir Ewan Forbes of Craigievar should be entered in the Roll of Baronets
