Antony (Tony) C. Gould , of Devon. Related to the Fox-Strangways family (Earls of Ilchester). (cf Choti nee Peters). Later of Maidstone (from ca 2012). Educ. Camb., Trinity. Ex-British Army officer - 7th Gurkha Rifles. (He did his National Service in the 7th Gurkha Rifles in Malaya, India and Hong Kong, and was invalided out of the army with polio.) He studied Hindi at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London and then read English at Trinity, Camb., worked as a radio producer at the BBC and a literary editor, for New Society Magazine and then later the New Statesman and Society. Between 1994 and 1998, he was a member of the Literature Panel of the Arts Council of Great Britain. Fellow at University College London, 2001/02 .
