, Inventor, explorer, awarded Polar Medal invested 10/3/1941. He served with the Discovery investigation in 1930-33. At the time of his marriage, his parents were living at 16 Wordsworth Rd., Harpenden. Laurie Island in the South Atlantic was named for him. Overseas Intelligence Department B B C (1939).
