DD/8 - date: [circa 1650]-1838 [from Scope and Content] Deeds and cognate documents relating to estates in Mortlake (co.Surrey), acquired by Edward William Leyborne Popham of Littlecote, esq., in 1838, including: (a) a printed copy of 'An Act for vesting certain estates, situate in the counties of Essex and Surrey, devised by the Will of Sir William Burrell, Bart., deceased, in Trustees, upon trust to sell the same ...', 1805; (b) a notice of sale of an estate near Mortlake, Richmond, and Kew, 1806; (c) affidavits concerning title, and extracts of entries in parish registers, etc., 1825-26; (d) a 'rough copy of the Plan of the Mortlake property to be sold 21 July, 1825'; and (e) an office copy of the Will of Elizabeth Taylor of Brick Farm in Mortlake, devising property in Mortlake, East Sheen and Horley (all co.Surrey) to various persons, Dillington and Stanmore Farms, near Leighton Buzzard (co.Bedford) to the Reverend John Leyborne Popham, third son of her cousin General Edward William Leyborne Popham, and the mansion house of West Hall in Mortlake, purchased by her father John Walker Heneage, to General Leybourne Popham and his second son, Francis; dated 1835 (codicils 1835-37; proved P.C.C. 1837).
