At the 1861 he is 18 , unmarried, and still living at Cowgate, Welton, with his parents and brother. Thomas is one of at least five brothers who emigrated to Australia. There's a likely reference to him on the manifest of the ship Agincourt, which departed England in January 1862 and arrived at Victoria: Moorfoot Thomas, aged 18 years. He appeared on a 1908 photograph with brothers Michael and Christopher, which is now in the possession of Graeme Moorfoot.
