British holds his papers: Mss Eur IOR Neg 4381-82 PALK (Robert ), Sir, 1st Bart Letters and papers of Sir Robert Palk, 1st Bart (1717-98), Governor of Madras 1763-66, MP 1767-68 and 1774-87, chiefly dated 1767-86, but with a few earlier papers including an account, dated 1755, by Maj (later Maj-Gen) Stringer Lawrence of his campaigns in India 1752-54, addressed to Rear-Admiral Charles Watson.
