Thomas Arthur (Arthur) Price 1866 - 1950
Thomas Arthur (Arthur) Price , Cattle dealer (1901). Farmer (1911,39). Of Yew Tree Farm, Llanfair Discoed (1911), Of The Grove, nr Presteigne, Radnorshire (1926,1939,1950). Did he inherit or buy the property from Richard Dansey Green Price (1838-1909) who owned the place in 1903 as tenant for life of Green Price Settled estates and were they related? It appears that Joseph Alfred Bradley, Sheriff of Radnorshire was the occupier in 1890. He left his property to his 4 nieces, to be given to them on his wife's death. On his deathbed, according to his nieces, his wife tried to persuade him to change his will in favour of her and her nephew. He refused. She survived another 7 years during which time, she sold a lot of family belongings including antiques. The 4 nieces engaged a solicitor - first cousin on their mother's side, Gwillam Roberts, to act for them. However, he didn't do a very good job. The nieces ended up with nothing. One of these nieces, Olwen Price, lived with Thoams Arthur and Martha Priscilla during his latter years.
