Rev. Charles Twemlow Royds 1838 - 1900
Rev. Charles Twemlow Royds , In 1880, HAUGHTON, besides the above descriptions, is now on the Shropshire Union Railway, and is situated on the road from Stafford, to Newport (Salop.) The church was much beautified by the late rector, at his own cost. "A fine organ" in the south transept, is "the gift of the present rector". The living is a rectory, yearly value about ?400, with residence, in the gift of the Rev. Charles Twemlow Royds, and held by the Rev. Gilbert Twemlow Royds, M..A., of Trinity College Cambridge. Heysham: Rectors: 1858 John Royds 1865-1900 Charles Twemlow Royds 1908 Charles Craddock Twemlow Royds 1943 John Richard Hudson Royds Heysham: Since 1858 the Rectory and Advowson (right of patronage) have been in the hands of the Royds family. The last member of the Royds family, Everard, to live, in Heysham, died in October 1995 at his home in Glasbury. The patronage is still with the Royds family (2003).
