Second Party: Henry, Lord Clifford; Sir Gervas Clifton of Clifton, Nottinghamshire, knight and Baronet; Margarett Clifton, eldest daughter of Sir Gervas Clifton; Sir William Thorold of Marston, Lincolnshire, knight; Sir Christopher Wray of Barlings, Lincolnshire, knight; Sir Anthony Irbye of Boston, Lincolnshire, knight. Acknowledgment by (1) of £ 2,500 given as a marriage portion by Sir Gervase Clifton. Covenant by (1) with (2) to convey by fine at the Court of Common Pleas before the feast of All Saints next ensuing the lordships or manors of Kelsterne, Coates Grange, Cawkewell, Fotherby, Northormsby and Cockrington, and lands in Louth, South Elkington, Welton, Utterby, Binbrooke, South Saltfleetby, Granthorpe, Fulstoe and Wharpholme, all in Lincolnshire. The lordships or manors of Kelsterne and Coates Grange are to be held to the use of (1) for life, and thence to the heirs male successively of John South and Margarett Clifton, subject to an annuity of £ 200 for Margarett Clifton after the death of (1). The lordships or manors of Cawkewell and Fotherby and the other lands in the same places, and lands in Utterby and Binbrooke are to be held to the use of (1) for life, and thence to the use of Margarett Clifton for life for her jointure, and thence to the heirs and assigns of (1) for ever. The remainder of the lands are to be held to the use of (1) for life and thence to the trustees for 99 years upon special trusts for securing the lands and paying portions, and upon the determination of the trusts the lands are to be set over to the heirs male of (1) or of his father Sir Francis South.
