George Bullen aka Hampes 1838 - 1914
George Bullen aka Hampes, agricultural labourer (1851). Emigrated to Australia on the "Violet" in 1856. The date of embarkation was the 4th December 1855. The "Violet" having sailed from the port of Southampton made its course via Africa to South Australia. It was on the 10th April 1856 that the Violet set anchor at Port Adelaide and George stepped upon Australian soil
