William Anne (van) Keppel 1702 - 1754
William Anne (van) Keppel , British soldier, was governor of Virginia (1737); general on staff at Dettingen (1743); wounded at Fontenoy (1745); fought at Culloden Moor (1746); commander in chief in North Britain (1748); privy councilor (1750). He had 8 sons and 7 daughters. 4 sons and 4 daughters died in infancy.
