Cadet in the Bengal Army, 1818; Lieut., 1821; extra Assistant to the Resident at Malwa and Rajputana, 1824-5; extra A.D.C. to Lord Combermere, C.-in-C., 1825-6. Present at the siege and capture of Bhurtpore. Died, unmarried, Sept. 26, 1826, at Barrackpore. Brother of Francis J. (1825), Miles J. (1823) and the above. (V.
