Joseph Banks , Only son. He lived at Revesby until his father died, but mostly lived elsewhere after that. However, he had a house in Lincoln in 1721. He may have been a sub tenant of the Burgersh Chanrty. He took a lease from the Dean and Chapter in 1724. It was then divided into two tenements, one for him and the other for Newcomen Wallis who died in 1730. When the lease was renewed in 1732, one part was occupied by Lord Wallingford and the other by Dr Greathed. Ca 1730, he bought a house on the east side of St James Square next door to the Duke of Norfolk's mansion. Both properties were later demolished to make way for an "improved" mansion. On marrying Newcomen Wallis' widow, Catherine nee Collingwood, he settled the London house on her. It was eventually sold, unlet and in ruinous state in 1748. He rented Quickswood in Hertfordshire, which belonged to Lord Salisbury in Jan 1731. He also has a house in Ormond st., Queens Sq., London in Jan and Feb 1731. Then he bought a house at Ancaster and was there in 1734, 1738 and 1740. He acquired, on 19 July 1732, the lease of the manor, including the town, of Horncastle from the Bishop of Carlisle. High Sheriff of Lincolnshire (1735 or 1736), sometime MP for Peterborough. Although an MP, unlike his father, he was not active in poitics. He was a Fellow of the Royal Society and a member of Spalding Gentleman's Society. He suffered badly from gout. Records, Historical and Antiquarian, of Parishes Round Hornecastle, Page 167 Describing the parish church at Revesby ".......against the west wall of this (north) aisle is a massive marble monument surmounted by a bust, probably the old monument renewed ...to the left, "Joseph Banks II., born 1695, died 1741, married, 1st, Annie Hodgkinson, and had issue, &c.; Eleonora (the youngest) born 1723, died 1793, married the Honble.
